It is crucial to learn the answers to this questions as it will make the difference between getting the nose your want, and the need for a revision rhinoplasty. As you know from reading this blog, I am speaking from experience having gone through a revision rhinoplasty and It is my sincere hope that I can help others on their quest to find the best rhinoplasty surgeon in Chicago.
I’m posting this journal to provide and honest account of the procedure, both physically and mentally/emotionally. I also want to help others in their journey to selecting the a surgeon. One thing I want to stress above anything else is that choosing your surgeon is by far the most important decision you will make. Do NOT take this decision lightly as it will make or break whether or not you are happy with the procedure. Again, I speak from experience as in 2008, I had my primary Rhinoplasty by a prominent Chicago Plastic Surgeon with great credentials. I remember thinking to myself, “I am choosing a doctor that is extremely qualified, and has done thousands of rhinoplasties”. Yet, despite all that, I ended up being extremely disappointed with the outcome.
I think most would agree that it looks like I still NEED a rhinoplasty.:) I suffered another 6 years with a nose that I disliked, and started to reside that that an ugly nose was my fate. I honestly never imagined that find another surgeon who I could trust operate on my nose again. However, that all changed after meeting the brilliant and extremely gifted surgeon, Dr. Anil Shah. It is my sincere hope that I can help those avoid the same mistakes I made when choosing my primary my rhinoplasty surgeon. And for those that are suffering from a bad primary rhinoplasty, I hope this inspire you to know that there is hope and you are not doomed to have an ugly nose.:). Just remember, your doctor the key to your happiness.
I only want to do this one more time, because it is a very difficult recovery, cost, and time away from family and friends. I am so scarred, because of the first time.
I completely understand. I waited 6 years to have my revision rhinoplasty. I was determined to get it right the 2nd time around. If there is one piece of advice I can give you, it’s that your surgeon will make or break your outcome. Choose wisely.
