The night before my revision rhinoplasty is not so easy for me to describe. This was because I was feeling such a mix of emotions knowing that in a few hours, I will be in the operating table to fix the nose that I have always wanted to change since I was 13 years old. Despite all those emotions, I knew that excitement was the one I was feeling the most. This was definitely a big change from the night before my first rhinoplasty procedure. The night before my primary rhinoplasty, I was also feeling excited, but there was no doubt that this excitement was also mixed with nervousness. Despite the many hours of research and preparation that I did before that primary surgery, I still did not know what to expect. And there was a small voice in my head telling me that all is not as right as it should be.
If you’ve been browsing this site for a while then you already know that my first rhinoplasty procedure had awful results that caused me to lose faith in rhinoplasty surgeons. Looking back on that experience, I realize now that there were already tell-tale signs that should have warned me right from the very first consultation. For one thing, our sessions always felt rushed as if the surgeon was in a hurry. I also felt like he didn’t fully understand my goals and what I wanted for my new nose. However, I managed to dismiss any negative gut feelings I had since the surgeon had all the right credentials and qualifications.
The night before my revision rhinoplasty with Dr. Anil Shah was completely different. There was not an ounce of hesitation, doubt or nervousness in my mind. Aside from the fact that I have literally spent a total of 7 years doing research on rhinoplasty and rhinoplasty surgeons, I have also learned a great deal from my past mistake. These are the reasons why I was both confident and excited the night before my big day.
As I was making my pea gloves for icing my nose the next day, I got an incredibly nice surprise: Dr. Shah actually gave me a call to see how I was doing and to ask if was ready for my surgery the next day. I have to admit I was very touched with the gesture. My primary surgeon certainly did not take the time to give me a call and check on me before our surgery! It’s personal touches like this that make Dr. Shah different from any rhinoplasty surgeon out there. He is not only a talented and skilled rhinoplasty surgeon, but he has genuine passion for his craft and concern for his patients. He understands your worries before the procedure and once you get the results you want, he will just be as excited and happy as you. This is why the night before my surgery, I was feeling nothing but exhilaration and confidence since I was sure I was in the best hands.
